MEATtransMISSION Radio (Every Monday, 4-6pm)
Every now and then we like to invite DJs (big and small) to give us a peek inside their record bags and let us know what tracks they love playing out. In the hot seat today we’ve got fellow Londoner and White Label Project resident Mitch Hobson giving us a run-down of his 5 must-hear songs:
Tim Green – Among Wolves
If you’ve partied on the white isle, chances are the name Jem Haynes is one that’s firmly cemented in your mind. Synonymous with Sundays at Space, Jem’s graced the decks alongside the likes of Derrick May, James Zabiela and Carl Craig to name a few. Now, after 9 years in the Discoteca, Jem’s returned home and heads up the Colour Series label. We’re lucky enough to catch up with him and hear his top 5 tracks of the moment.
“I’m currently on tour in Switzerland, last week I played a great festival in the Swiss Alps called Arosa Electronica. Here is my top 5 from the festival”
Introspectral – Andre Hommen
Andre recently played my Colour Series label party at Arosa Electronica.
He’s not only a fantastic producer but an excellent DJ and all round top man!
This record made so much sense at the top of a mountain on a bright sunny day.
Melos – Vincenzo, Mic Newman
An excellent feel good record that always makes people move.
Alcatraz – MJ Cole
Best known for his smooth garage vibes, MJ Cole rips all that up and rinses out an absolute dance floor banger!
Jem Haynes & SOAME – Streets
One of my own productions that has been getting a great dance floor reaction every time I play. (Out in the shops 28th March).
Depeche Mode – Only when I lose myself (Lexicon Avenue remix)
Played by my mate & production partner Ian Blevins as the last track of the Colour Series party. 7:30 in the morning, the sun rising over the mountains, this hit all the right spots!

Dexter – X7D
From the first time I’ve played this track I loved the atmospheric vibe on it and the positive feeling it gives to the floor.. One of my favourite tracks on my long sets
Marco Colombino – Fall in the groove
One of my own tracks released few months ago on Sullivan room records NYC. The looped synth lead give the dark imprint to the track but the groovy rhythm keep you dancing.
Aphrohead – Grown Man Crayy (Carl Craig ‘Brainy Grimlin’ Remix)
This track speak by itself. A constantly growing up, Pure ecstasy for real clubbers.
Wax – No. 30003 (B)
Pure underground techno on this one, but I always find the right time to spin it.
Aney F – Acid driver
I always like to put into my set some acid vibes…And the floor always appreciate it.

Timeless and unique this afro Balearic track works with any crowd at any time in any venue. Simply amazing.

Dennis Ferrer applies a groove heavy, percussive re work to this wonderful Luciano track. Made for the terrace.
Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Orchestra – Too Much Information
Try not moving to this afro soul explosion; Impossible.
Tim Engelhardt – Best Night In Cologne (Original Mix)
Deep, moody and melancholy but full of sunshine at the same time.
Sandrino, Frankey – Fornax (Original Mix)
Beautiful , hypnotic plodder. Nuevo Balearic at its best, Salinas beach style.
Matt Hazelden – The past 3 decades have seen Matt Hazelden really hone his craft, from humble beginnings running a record shop and promoting parties, to playing alongside the likes of Derrick May, Darren Emerson, Colin Dale and with Pete Tong at the legendary Milk Bar. Chuck in a few years working at dance music mainstays Wall of Sound, Deconstruction and Acid Jazz and it’s easy to see he’s kind of a big deal.. His feel-good sets are an eclectic mix of House, Groove, Soul, Balearic, Disco and Tech House and have led to radio slots on Ibiza Sonica, Es Vive Radio and Real House Radio. These days you can catch him putting on not-for-profit nights (see Route One) with the Ibiza Sonica DJs, Guy Gerber and Mendo to name but a few.
